My life has not been as I imagined and nothing like I had planned but in reality, is anything ever, really!?
After a whirlwind romance aged 20, I unexpectedly found myself in a predicament I never thought I would be in... PREGNANT!
Although I was shocked, keeping the baby was never in doubt. Fast forward 9 months and after a textbook pregnancy Ryan was born.
Only a short 5 months later those 2 little pink lines made a second appearance and just like that at 23 I was a mummy to two babies under two. Ryan and following the birth of my daughter, Kaitlyn.
Nobody had prepared me for the ups and downs of being a young mummy, but at 23 I had the stamina and resilience to plow through and loved every minute of being a new mum.
My very premature relationship however, was not going as well and we decided mutually to part ways. Even though things did not work out for us, it was for the best and he is still very much a part of Ryan and Katy's life. Something I am very thankful for!
Oh no... 24 and a single mum!
It was tough, very tough I cannot lie. I was worried about supporting my children financially and anxious I would not meet someone who could except the fact I had children. But only one short year later, I met the man that would complete me and guide me to become the best person I could be, Mr C. With his support I went to university where I completed both my bachelors and masters in Forensic Science and after a further year at university, I became a fully qualified teacher of Science. It sounds cheesy but Mr C gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another, SELF BELIEF!
Now after an amazing 10 years, I am proud to call Mr C my husband and welcome the latest addition's to our growing family, Grace and newborn Rose.
To think when I gave birth to Katy 13 years ago I thought I was done having children! At 36 I feel like I am starting all over again. I might be more prepared and older, but so is my body and I already realise it isn't as keen to bounce back as quickly as it did all those years ago!
Through all my up's and down's I wouldn't change a thing. It brought me to where I am today.
Parenting children is the most amazing rollercoaster you could ever ride and no two days are the same. The rollercoaster never stops and is full of chaos, laughter, stress, fun. There is no right or wrong way to parent and it certainly does not come with a manual, making it the hardest yet most rewarding job you will ever under take.
Meet the Family
Our family is made up of Mr C, my best friend, cheerleader and unofficial photographer! Ryan, aged 14, who may come across as quiet but has a wicked sense of humour. Katy, aged 13 going on 33, my 'not so little' partner in crime! Grace, aged 16 months, who is a climber and in to everything and anything she can get her hands on and our newborn baby Rose.
Also, not forgetting Dave and Dexter, our daft as a brush mini dachshund pups. And me!
So now you have met the family, come and join us on the epic journey that I like to call life!
Hey, I'm Clare and welcome to my blog!
I am a 30 something mum of 4, a newborn baby, a toddler and 2 hormonal teenager's. Our fast growing family makes for a hectic life but I chose this and I wouldn't change it for the world.
I'm not just a mum! I'm a wife, a daughter, a friend and a full time working teacher. But by far, the greatest adventure I have ever had is bringing children into this world.
Please join me on this epic journey I like to call life!
